With him going above and beyond (ie. him sending us video walk throughs of potential homes before we could even get to the area.) He was both communicative and resourceful. He also helped us save over 50k on closing costs (definitely makes him a great negotiator!) Even after closing he checked in on us and a few of the home problems we discovered during inspection and gave us numbers to companies to help with those repairs. In short? Our previous experience with RE agents was very unpleasant and left us with a negative opinion of all agents. Meeting the first time with Marty I felt as if we could actually trust him to understand our situation and "hear" us. He doesn't push or pressure, he is upfront, honest and very helpful. Let me explain. When we first listed in August of 2024 an election year and so much uncertainty added to unusual mix in the housing market. We had been looking for a while to purchase a lot for a custom home build for our retirement. We settled on the area, just needed the right lot to come up. What looked like the perfect lot came up on Zillow and we contacted Marty. He listened to what we were looking for and provided insight on the lot and community. This was a remote purchase, over a 5-hour commute, so we relied heavily on Marty. Within a week, Marty was in contact with the FSBO seller to coordinate a time to video tour the property. We found Marty using the Peer Review web site, which is a web site where agents rate each other. So we could see from that site that Marty might be easy to work with. Marty pointed out things about the houses that were not apparent to us, and genuinely seemed devoted to finding us a house that met our individual needs. Marty was really familiar with each of the areas we visited, which we were not. This helped us feel confident as we decided on our house. In the end he found us a house that we are really happy with and made the transaction as smooth and easy as possible.
